Excellent post that I come back to every now and then, especially since I entered crypto
at the same time and learned many of the same hard lessons...

I am working on a full rename/rebrand of this account to fully line up with who I am now and will be in the future. Long overdue, actually. For the past few years I've been so busy studying (with the little time I have) that I have largely ignored this account other than using it to study the content of traders I follow. From this point forward I plan to be more active here as I believe it will help my growth as a trader.
I came into the crypto markets in early 2021. Completely green and knowing nothing. Quickly found Uni and Pancake and within mere weeks I was staring at major paper gains. It was too much too fast and selling never even entered my mind. Thankfully by November I had wised up a little and managed to sell enough that I didn't end up truly rekt. Basically B/E though.
At this point (early 22) I thought I had learned the only lesson I needed to know. TAKE PROFITS. It's easy to make gains right? Just gotta hit the sell button. Simple.
2021 did exactly what it was designed to do. It trapped my mind in a fairytale. Surely it would all happen again right? I just needed to sell next time. This thought process trapped me in a cycle of buying the worst bottom of the barrel crap over and over because small market caps = larger gains when "alt season" happens again right? RIGHT?......lol.
I did take profits during this time but leaned very heavy on just selling enough to "de-risk" because I wanted those large bags for later. They are all dust now by the way. Oh... and there were rugs...lots of them.
In late 22 I decided to begin studying what the "smart" people do and learn TA. It was really something I had never considered even possible for me. I began following what I thought were serious accounts. I studied and dug like crazy only to eventually learn most of it was crap (retail TA) and was actually designed to wreck me. It is truly astounding the mountains of absolute crap that are out there but it makes perfect sense once you 👀 reality.
I did learn rock solid Risk Management concepts during this period. The importance of this can't be overstated. I was a profitable trader for the first time ever in 2024 while trying out all kinds of strategies with a small account. Profitable only because of risk management... not because I "knew" anything. Without it a trader is doomed before they start.
I am EXTREMELY grateful for every bit of this experience. All of it. Without living through all of this and digging endlessly I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't be able to recognize TRUE skill when I see it.
In a world where everything around us is fake and cultivated for those that are asleep you can still find REAL. You just have to be awake to see it. Most never will.
This is where the true journey begins. You can't win a game if you don't even know what game you're playing. Study and working hard is great but even that won't help if studying and working on the wrong things.
I have MUCH to learn and tons of experience to gain but I will not stop until I earn the coveted title "Lucky"
P.S. If you want real... these accounts are where you find it.
